Default Joseph Eliot and Jones 5/8

My great father is dead long time ago (15 years). I took the various straight razor he had. Some was totaly destroyed but some other was simply very used.
My great father was forensic scientist and used his straight razor to shave the dead body....

I recently find that one that i had forgotten in a corner of the house. (I just began to be interested by straight razor and their use.

It's seem to be a 5/8 from Joseph Eliot and Jones, with probably ivory handle.
He was deeply rusted, i cleaned it gently and didn't want to keep away the old look. The rought style that the razor obtain during the years.
I didn't disassembled it because the handle is in good shape.

I simply re honed it, and i shaved me during the 4 last day.

A very great razor with a lot of sentimental power for me.

No matter how old, beaten up, shiny, gorgeous or pitted a razor can be, the history or sentimental value behind it is all we need to love and cherish that particular razor. It shows a person with heart, respect, values and emotions. Very nice. May you enjoy the razor for many years to come.
