    Oh, lord, those are GORGEOUS!! How do you bring out the luster in the wood so well? Your redwood, Purpleheart and -especially!!- the buckeye look amazing!!

    I love your work with Buckeye Burl, this and that Livi from a while ago... Absolutely phenomenal

    Yes, the buckeye was cut from the same slab I made my Livi scales from. It was a 3x3x12 piece of turning stock that I cut down for scales and brushes. This piece was off the same two slabs that my Livi was made from. That finish is about 1/16 inch thick. You could pound on it with a hammer, you would break the blade before you broke the scales.
