Thread: Sorry Butch

I got a L.R. Harner to make new scales for it - sorry Butch
With the original scales was nothing wrong. Like the whole razor, they where from a outstanding good quality. The problem was, the razor was a birthday gift for my customer and he dont liked the "modern" style of the handle. He perfered some "old school" shaped scales.

I made them from desert ironwood and hope, I did the fantastic blade justice. Once again Butch, it was the first time I hold a razor from you in my hands, and they are much more better done, than I saw on the photos. Very great craftmenship

That Harner is a sexy razor. I think you could dress her in a set of rough tree branches, and she'd still look great! Nice job on the scales, BTW. A far cry from rough tree branches!

I think you did it justice, but if I owned it, I'd keep the original scales with it. They're part of it's history.
My only experience of Butch's work is one of his blanks. Even they show that his work is of an exceptionally high standard!
At the end of the day the owner now has his perfect combination, so nice work all round.

as was said i would hold on to the Ti scales and if even sold sell as a set (show and go set )
