    Default George Wostenholm & Son

Hi. For the scales on this one I used box treated with Danish oil and wax. The wedge is ebony.

I used the original scales as a template as I really liked their shape and the way the spine sits snugly against them.

Can anyone tell me anything about the makers mark which to me looks like an up turned tobaco pipe?

    Thanks for looking

    Michael

Nice job on the scales. Wostenholm, among at least one other company, used an image of a clay pipe as a logo on one line of razors the made. IIRC the boxes and sometimes the blade and or the scales were marked with something like "The Original Pipe Razor". Many examples in the razor clubs forums with more info if I'm not mistaken.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Nice work, & I love the grind on that!

The mark is indeed a pipe. You can see it here among a few of the others they used.

Nicely done Sir. The Pipe indeed! ( I have seen the unwashed sellers on eBay refer to that symbol as a "Hatchet" or "Tomahawk".... It is simply a pipe.)
