    Default Joseph Elliot Meat Chopper

New meets old... A Joseph Elliot Meat Chopper with Carbon Fiber scales brass pins and washers and a bone wedge. I could not get all the pits out and theres a few deep ones on the back side of the blade, but no pits close enough to the edge to interfear with honing a good edge. And a twisted tang to boot. But it all came together faily well. I had never worked with carbon fiber be for and roached a blade cutting the scales, tuff stuff. I dont think I got the lines on the scales as precise as I would of liked to but all and all I was happy with the out come and I just love this beefy razor.

Carbon fiber is really wierd... it cuts incredibly difficult (a hand coping saw, by far, is the least expensive and easiest way to cut it..a band saw will just start sparking and ruin the blade!), and sands very easily.. you actually have to keep an eye on it while sanding on a 80 grit belt... it can disappear on you.

Good job on the set of scales.
