Default Mark II (for this) Zephyr

Hi all, just thought I'd share my latest attempt, a Zephyr Solingen 5/8 restored as best as my hands and sandpaper could manage, rescaled in custom black acrylic scales with a clear green acrylic wedge and SS + NiAg pins. It has "Silver Steel Electric" on the blade face, twas more frost than etch so it fell by the wayside a little during sanding.

Nice and simple but pretty smooth to look at in person.

I'm happy with how the acrylic worked out, thought it may look a bit cheap to begin with but it works quite well. Very similar to working with horn surprisingly.

The first NiAg pins I've been ok with, I usually battle chips and splits with that material for some reason.

I've never seen another razor marked 'Zephyr' so no idea how it will shave, I had to round the toe a bit more to remove a bent tip (you can see it in the 'almost' before shot) but at least it lays flat on a hone now so should take an edge.

Looks like a great job! I like the contrasting pins & washers too. Well done!
