Default George Wostenholm Celebrated IXL Chopper in Buckeye Burl

This is a George Wostenholm 8/8 spanish point chopper. The blade was not to bad off but did have a fair amount of rust and pit. I gave it sanding and hit it with the buffing compounds to polish it up. There is still some light pitting and texturing in the blade but any more sanding/buffing would take the etch off the blade. There is not rust left and a reasonable shine on the blade.

The owner wanted some buckeye burl scales. The scales are finished in epoxy resin for very tough and durable high gloss finish. Pins are 1/16 brass rod with brass over stainless washers and brass thrust bearings. The wedge is a pearl acrylic that I did not buff. I thought the matte color contrasted the scales nicely. Took a few hours to cut the little chips out of the edge and get a proper hone on it. Nice saving razor.
