Default ca. 1825 John Barber in Horn

I love bringing back blades like this. I tried to be true to the time period with the scales, and I used a vintage chunk of lead for the wedge from an old W&B. nickel silver and SS hardware, and an absolutely gorgeous pile side piece of horn that was a complete surprise. you never know what you run into when you start sanding down what you think is a solid black horn blank! too bad it didn't show up on the front scale

Edit: I forgot to add.. this is just over 5/8 ...about 11/16.

    And after:

    hope u enjoy~~

Bootiful ! & one of my favourite makers.
I think the anomalous colours in black horn make it all the more attractive.
Don't know if it's true but I was told the lighter colour is younger growth.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thats absolutely mental thinking about it and looking at those photos!

It probably looks better now than it originally did as I doubt it would have been that shiny.

    Hello, Undream:

You have the touch. Well done.

I also can't help but wonder who the first owner of the razor was back in around 1825.

    Regards,
    Obie
