This started as a project at the MO meet-- a demonstration on scale making-- but I didn't bring everything needed to finish it. I brought it back home, did it up all pretty, and now Will (WFaist) is getting his first razor back all dressed up pretty!

Walnut scales, hand-rubbed and oiled, with a blood-wood wedge.

    Hope you enjoy it, Will!

NOTE: I must have taken that wedge-end shot from a goofy angle. It is symmetrical in real life...

Awesome work! The walnut looks fantastic on that razor.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

    Hey Benjamin,

Thanks again for redoing my entire razor from the meetup. I showed just about everyone I work with today and they all oo'd and ahh'd about the scales and that I shave with a straight razor. XD When I got your email this morning around 6 I looked at the pictures and ended up drooling while eating breakfast.

Here is a picture of what the razor looked like before Benjamin here got a hold of it. The razor I had purchased from Pete (Pete_S) from the classifieds here as my first straight razor. When I went to the meet up I was hoping I was going to be able to get it honed and meet a few of the guys from SRP there. When Benjamin offered to rescale it for me I was a little tentative about it being it was my one and only razor. I now can say that this razor is going to be with me for a long time.

Thanks for the 'before' shot, Will! I was feeling really dumb about doing yet ANOTHER restore without taking one...

I'm just lapping up the hones...

I was thinking about that today and remembered that I a had a decent before shot on my phone. Though it is a terrible picture. Cant see the razor at all. BUT! at least the scales can be seen.

Nice job, Ben! Will, I know you're excited about getting it back. Not too long before you rejoin the world of clean shaven men...

    Hello, Benjamin:

I like the razor's rustic look. Good work.

    The cigar looks good, too.

    Regards,
    Obie
