I really just wanted to play with a straight-on-a-stick... And I didn't want to throw the blade away. I know the grind is purely western, but I'm not sure how well I would do only using one side of a blade...

I still had a lot of fun making this thing, and it honed faster than any razor I've ever touched before... Also, I made a case for it that turned out VERY well.

    1. Outside of the case

    2. Case inside with razor strapped in

    3. Case sans razor

    4. Dremeled groove to hold the handle without letting the blade slide forwards

    5. The mount for the blade, Velcro, blank wood, superglue and lots of wood stain

    6. the end piece to keep the blade from sliding back

All in all, this took longer to make than the razor, but I really like the outcome... It's just a bracelet box, with the cardboard liners replaced with red velvet, and a dremeled and stained hunk of blank wood.. However, it fits perfect, the velcro and and pieces make sure the blade doesn't move at all, and the cutout at the tip keeps the spine stable, and keeps the blade from making contact with ANYTHING.

Not the prettiest, but not bad by any means, and perfect for the task (protection of the blade on campus/during moves to and from campus)

Very inventive case. I like it. It also goes well with the theme of the razor. A little rough around the edges but Very functional and a great re-life of something.

Instead of the tape, why not copper wire? Love the case...where did you pick it up?

I'm thinking about doing it with wire... I'd just need to think of a way to Make the wire stay in place...

And I made the case from scrap wood and a bracelet holder, long with some velvet I found in my mom's sewing kit.
