Default Now for something totally different...

Well, I got tired of my make shift strop that I have been using, so I decided to do something about it.
Here's my first try at strop building.....(is that a term??)
I started with nice medium heavy red latigo that was free of blemish or wrinkles, 2" wide. Added some nice metal hardware (a must, of course )
And finished with leather lacing for attachment to whatever in the bathroom, and on the other end to go around the wrist to help give a nice tension to the strop without putting pressure on the hand.
let me know what ya'll think.

ps. yes, I made a couple of these with different hardware types.
and yes, I did get silly and engrave the bright cuts on the screw rivits. What can I say, it stayed still too long.....

Beautiful work John! It looks like something an artisan would have made centuries ago.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

My God, John, I love it! Now I'm reeling with possibility.. What can I send you to have engraved!? A razor blade? Strop hardware? My sister's forehead? The possibilities are limitless!

Also, I like the idea of the leather strap at the bottom to put tension on the wrist, rather than the hand. I like it.

    Again, Outstanding work!

Really beautiful work John. Something different but equally (at the very least) impressive as your other works.
