Nice work Glen but I suspect that I would like your dog better than your razors

That turned out stellar with that smooth horn look. Blade still has plenty of life. The reason the grind looks different to you might be the fact that the Filarmonica is usually always around the 15/16 mark (at least all the ones I have seen (Jose Monserrat Pou). This one looks like it has seen some use hence the grind looks stiffer as the blade lost most of the extra hollow ground part and width of the blade. Looks more 6/8 ish or so. I could be wrong as it's always hard to judge when looking at a picture. None the less, the G touch never fails. Super job.

Excellent work Glen! My dog sneaks licks on the horn when I'm hand sanding on the couch... and sure enough he has devoured a few sets of scales i left out. Gotta be careful with that stuff

Nice job on the rescale, Glen. Does your dog show an interest in ivory as well?

Hmmmm are you trying to hint that besides Drug, Bomb, Cadaver, S&R, and Service Dogs we might be looking at a new "Scales" Dog ?????

Yes, but can your dog tell the difference between horn and tortoise?

It looks like something new out of a catalog, very nice work and that horn material is a great new option it looks like.

I was going to wait until I received it to post, so I could add my first-hand knowledge, but as the eager soon-to-be-recipient of this boy I have to add my huzzahs to the chorus - truly stellar. And I can't help but note that I had to nudge Glen a bit, hesitant as he was to work with horn...but there's a reason one always keeps coming back to naturals...
PS - and I can't tell you how glad I am it passed the doggy test - had me rolling on the floor reading that..
