Default HUGE!!! 9/8 W&B in Ocean Mist Acrylic

Our very own Ogershok sent this one out for a make over..
Not really in too bad a shape, at all, found some pretty good bug bites in the old scales...
Then once I pop it loose, the inside is a bit worse, you can see the active rust and the deterioration of the scales now...

First thing I do is buff out the blade, but not to far as I could have, as I wanted to keep the etch and of course "Murphy's Law of Restore" kicks in... That states that "The depth of the pitting will always be just deeper than the depth of the etch:

Now on these next two shots I am just proving a point...

So here is this big ole' Chopper balancing in it's original set of scales, as it was designed, by W&B, and balancing again, in the new set of scales as I designed them... See I didn't make this stuff up, and who am I to say they were wrong back then, most every vintage razor will balance, try it yourself... Yes, even the big huge Choppers will...

PS: Yes that is exactly what the nail is there for, so I can check balance as I work...
