Thanked: 4942Bob Allman-OCD Razors
Well guys, sometimes you just get unbelievably lucky!!!!
I don't know how many of you know Bob Allman from the forum here, but this gentleman can make an absolutely great razor. He has helped a couple of the guys learn how to grind a razor and is just one of those people you can't say enough good things about. If you ever get to his part of Texas, I would strongly recommend a visit.
So, I have been fortunate enough to get a hold of a couple of Bob's razors and I have to tell you that not only are they beautiful, but they are bar none, a couple of the best shavers I have ever used in my life. I mean just wicked sharp!!
Check out the pictures that follow. One of the razors came in it's own casket made of Zebra Wood. The pictures tell the story......WOWZA. The scales are matching with a Paduk liner, I believe. The symmetry of the razor along with the grinding and file work just go together to make this one a stunning piece.
The second razor has hippo tusk Ivory scales and it just unreal. There are not many custom makers doing any full hollows out there, but Bob has certainly mastered this grind. The mirror finishes are better than my pictures show. Did I mention how good these babies shave!!!!
I am really impressed with Bob's work and hope some of you guys get the opportunity to try his razors. You will not be sorry.
Thanks Bob!!!
Have fun,
Lynn

I'll second that. Bob is not only a great guy that brings out super shavers, always ready to offer advise or help, but he's as humble as they come. And he likes beer

Those are beautiful. I especially like the coffin case on the zebrawood model.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

This should increase demand for Bob Allman's razors. That's good publicity indeed.

As a fellow OCD Razor owner all I can say is Bob is the man! Between the quality of his work and greatness of his person I'm proud to call him a friend and to own a piece of his work.

Thanked: 1072Wow. They're stunning as always. I was just making a box yesterday and my wife said "hey you should make it coffin shaped". Glad I stuck to my original plan, mine would have looked incredibly ameture next to that work of art. Bob is an inspiration to me and I'm sure a lot of us.

Thanked: 240Wow! I'm speechless, luckily I can still type, truely beautiful. I know they are only pictures and in person I'm sure they are even better but you can easily see the level of craftmanship is superb. I love the way the scales mirror the spine work on the blade itself. The coffin is also very cool!
