    Default New (restored) Henkels

    Gentlemen,

There comes a time when regardless of your ability, wisdom dictates you seek someone with more skill than your own for the job to be done.

This was a choice I made recently and without regrets.

I purchased this Henkels for a whopping sum of $5.00 at an antique store. Rusted edge and broken scales. I could handle the scales and the rust, but the honing following the rust removal was outside of my current honing skills.

I chose to send this razor to Glen (aka gssixgun) for the whole job. That was a great decision. Here are before and after pics - judge for yourself.

I opted for a set of vintage scales Glen had. I think it looks fantastic. I can't wait till it arrives and I can shave with it.

    Thanks Glen.

    David

These Vintage Henckels are sweet shavers too, I am on the way to the Post Office she will be home lickity split

In the second pic that one rust spot near the point, that was the problem child BTW, other then that one spot everything went pretty straight forward...That spot required some honing gymnastics on a DMT 325 and lather to get evened out...

This is why I don't poo poo razors that might look unsalvagable. In the hands of an expert, I think a lot of them can come back.

For about a third less than I paid for my first razor I have this gem in my rotation.
