    Default C-MON BLACKIE

I acquired a C-MON Blackie that had ugly yellow scales that obviously were not original. It had a bit of rust and one nasty pit on the front side which I couldn't quite get rid of but the rust came off OK.

I had an old 4/8 french razor called a "Honeless" that I will never use so I took the scales from that razor and put them on the Blackie with brass pins and triple stack washers. Except for the pit on the front, it came out very well.

The edge needs a touchup and I will shave with it in the morning.

    Thumbs up Very nice

    Jerry,
Very nice work. I have a C-Mon HF and they are fabulous shavers and take on a keen edge

Curious: Do the Blackies come with Blue shank/tang?

I'm pretty sure they do. I always assumed that's why they were called Blackies, but I'm not sure.

Yes. The tang is black. I have a formula for mixing a blackening liquid for steel somewhere in my archives. I don't think it's gun blue.
