Anchor with gold wedge and celluloid scales
This razor is stamped as ‘ “Manganese” Steel ‘ on the front and Anchor Brand on the rear. The blade got a clean up, but not polished. It has a nice patina, being very dark on the tail that I decided to keep.
The scales were replaced with celluloid. Originally I thought the blue has a sea type feel, to compliment the Anchor blade. The washers are brass spacer beads that I sanded down to a thickness I liked, with brass pins.
The wedge is gold. While making some gold scales, from gold flakes and epoxy resin, I had some remaining slurry. I made a mold to pour the residue into. I made it at about 6"x1" and a tappered thickness, so a quick slice and get a wedge. Pending how well this holds up, I'll be playing around with that idea some more.
