Default NOS Wester Bros in Black Canvas Micarta

I got lucky with a back pic on ebay and picked this up for a song. The scales it came in were a little small and the heel of the blade stuck out of the bottom, so it was time for some new clothes. There are also two little pin pricks right in the middle of the front of the blade.

Black Canvas Micarta in a pattern that very closely resembles the original
Brass lined cow bone wedge with brass pins and washers. Getting the liners and the wedge to all be the same shape and in the same location was a little tough. Next time I'm going to use a dab of CA to hold things together.

Well done! ;tu Nice fit and finish. I like that it's not the everyday flat scales but has a contour to them. A bit more work but worth the effort in my book.

Very nice work. I love the metal spacers at the wedge.

    Great work!
What did you use to cut and shape the G10?

Its micarta, so its easier to cut than G10. A coping saw or scroll saw cuts micarta just fine.

Really? And sanding isn't too tough either?

I saw you made some G10 scales as well. Did you have to use a special blade and sanding method for those?

I've been meaning to try some out myself, and these look good, so I'm eager to learn as much as I can.

Nice job. I bet that's one sweet shave.

I'm liking it alot, especially when you have a good blade to go with it.
