Great photos...Great information. It was a real pleasure to see how a master craftsman creates a work of straight razor art.

Fantastic, I always glean so much from seeing Bob's set up.
Love the worked spine, is that a rope. Maybe the worked spines could be the subject of future posts.
So many great custom makers out there, need to start saving the pennies. What's the waiting list time Bob.

Thanks all,
I will get these done once I get the wood in. It just will take a while to get it in. Trust me it will be worth the wait.

Absolutely amazing thread. Thanks so much for posting it. I can't wait to see how they look after you finish sanding and get them scaled up.
How long did the process take from start to finish?
So when can I visit Bob? LOLLast edited by JetHed; 10-18-2010 at 07:22 PM.

That is outrageously cool! Thank you for giving us the chance to watch a real craftsman at work! Looks like it'll be a gorgeous final product, and I especially love the twisted rope pattern on the spine!

I should be getting back to the sanding of the straights this or next week. Have to clean up the shop. It's covered in green dust from the last one.

Heh. I agree with you, but y'know... you only ever hear that on the SRP boards. ;>
I suspect no one at the local MENSA meeting is scratching their forehead, excaiming "Holy Sh!t We're never going to figure this out! Someone see what those guys at SRP think about this!"
