Default DePew's Perfect Razor - Rescale in Horn

Not too often you see these in good shape. This one was sent to me in fair condition, but, it still needed some work. the scales were chipped and cracked here and there, and the blade had some active rust and minor pitting.

now, this is the 2nd DePew's I've had my hands on in the past few months... but, the last one had nice original scales... One thing I noticed about the original scales is that it was very difficult to strop these razors.

Since I had the ability to design a new set, I wanted them to follow the curve of the tang so that when they were open, in stropping position, there wasn't a scale popping out bumping your thumb on every flip of the razor. Now...that said... I don't think there is anything you could do to these to make them strop as easily as a "normal" razor. I'm hoping, that this minor change will be a little less annoying on the leather. I have only given it a few test movements, and it seems better, I'll have to report back after I hone it.

Default Boy, did you ever nail that one

Undream - that's not easy. You nailed the clean, graceful look that few can. I think that's some of the appeal of the Hart Steel razor, and from what I've seen, Williams is the master of clean & graceful. I think that look is harder to do than other looks - and you nailed it.
