    Default morley clover restore

i didnt nothing more to this than some light sanding, dont actually remember what i started with, and some rubbing compound and so forth, the scales are made from another tree i cut a few years ago, while trying to thin out a brushy bank behind my house, the wood was very dense, similar to locust, which most of you from my region will attest to, stuff is hard as a rock when you put a chain saw to it, i asked the locale ag agent what it was, and he couldnt figure it out also, so swmbo, and i have taken to calling it devil bush, due to the way it grows, but it looks good as a set of scales, the finish is poly, rubbed in similar to what glen did some time back, the pins and washers are brass, the wedge is black walnut.

Is there a woodcraft near you? they have a selection of exotics 1/8" x 3x 18. For about 10-15$. can get about 6 sets of scales out of it.

an update to the devil wood, after asking my father in law, he informed me that the tree is what is known as a ornamental mullberry, now i have in the past had to take what he said with a grain of salt, but on this one, he seemed pretty certain. so untill i am told otherwise, i am gonna buy that and go with it, so the wood is mullberry, well that is good for me to know, seeing that i have one set of scales done and another on its way to the vise for sanding.

What part of WV do you live in? The Woodcraft mother store is in Parkersburg.
