    Default Sometimes they come D.O.A.

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine sent me 3 razors to restore or make useable or whatever. One was an inexpensive razor that I just buffed off some rust and honed. Number 2 was just too far worn in spine and blade to mess with. And then there was #3. I don't mean to offend anybody but we have a saying that seems to apply here, "Even Jesus couldn't save that one"

I know a lot of you do some really fine restoring, and I was wandering if any of you have ever received a challenge like this. If you have a good'un, post a pic and let's compare.

#2 is still perfectly useable. It's worn but not worn out.

bob, that top SR looks a lot like my newest edition, it's a "Keystone" from Germany. Please take a look and help me out, how old is it? Mine is in pretty good condition and I've recently cleaned it up a little more than in these pictures. Any response is appreciated!

I'm always amazed by how many you see looking like that on eBay.

I don't understand how you can see enough of the top razor to believe that it looks like your Keystone. What is your basis for that?

Just in case you're interested, the Fratern is actually Fraternity.

This Kropp wasn't quite as bad as the razor you've been sent, but it was pretty bad.
It is now an excellent shaver in my regular rotation.

    What a transformation!!

Can I ask by chance how you put in the spine work?
Is that a dremel or just file work?
