    Default Peroux Cognet «Le Talisman» Special Pour Barbes Dures in Horn scales

    This straight razor was made in France by the company "Peroux Cognet".
    There isn't much information about this company, but sometimes we see them at eBay. I can't say the age of this blade, but I'm guessing it's from the 50s-60s.
    The blade height is a little bit over 6/8'' measuring exactly 20mm, full hollow, but hefty. Polished to a mirror finished. Honed exclusively with Belgian and German natural stones. Shaves like a dream.
    I made the handles out of genuine translucent ox horn in "french" shape, that is to say, "a la" TI. Some french looking scales for a french blade seems logic to me

    Good job on both the blade and scales. I think you made a good choice in your scales, both in material and shape.

    Gorgeous, if it shaves anything like a Le Jaguar it is a dream shaver. I found it funny, the guys over here were saying working with horn is smelly business. That's the price you pay for having such a beauty.

    Working with horn IS a smelly business, but I think nothing looks better on razors than horn scales so it is well worth the price.
