Thanks everybody for the kind words. I thought the razor looked kind of lizard-like also. I nearly used green canvas to make it look more reptilian like but I went ahead with the black.

No, it's not alloy banding. It is file marks from draw filing with a coarse double-cut file.

The blade looks wonderful, but the different textures on scales and steel really give it living character. Lots of personality

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Love the use of rough and polish. makes me really want to start playing on the antique replicas this weekend
