Thanks for sharing Walt. It's beautiful work. I have to say, originally when I saw scales similar to these I did not know what they were made of (assumed celluloid/plastic of some sort) and have never been into tie-dye or psychedelic colors/prints. They did nothing for me. Your work is supreme, and a little education helps as well. I'm still digging that Chameleon Paua set you made. Very nice.

    Chameleon Paua

    Thanks Jim

The razors I posted in this thread were all made with off the shelf material. The first three is shell on acrylic from Masecraft, last Dovo is celluloid. Although the gold wedge on the Dovo I made the material. There I go making confusing again, lol

The more recent thread I did
    http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...time-ptii.html
is material I "made" by placing raw shell on g10 and coating clear.

    Sorry if i made confusing

    Ps
I don't know what its official name is, but the one in the newer thread that I called Chameleon Zebra Paua I too get a kick out of. It's fun how the raw material really is ugly. Then treated has those interesting stripes when viewed one way, but other angles pure flamboyance.

I respect that the shell and sparkle isn't for everyone. I also enjoy traditional materials. I appreciate guys like you that appreciate the workmenship as much as the eye candy.
