Default 7/8 W&B in Abalone Shell

Razor is a 7/8 W&B fully restored with the tang stamps fully intact. Had a bit of pitting to work through, but is now pitting free, though I did have to round the french point a little to remove some pitting there on the edge. Scales are made from Real Abalone Shell that is enclosed within a thin red acrylic backing and a colorless, clear acrylic front. The wedge spacer is made out of black G10 and is completely flush with the scales with no gaps. The peening was done with nickel/silver alloy rod and stainless steel washers. The razor sits tight in the pivot pin and centers absolutely dead on.

I initially never liked the look of shell scales, but after this I'm definitely going to make one of my personal razors in this.

I absolutely love this razor and it is hard letting it go, but I still have a stack of W&B's to work through so I'm sure I'll get one done to replace it in my personal stash.

    Joe,
That's a wild pair of scales. I really like the look of those.

That looks slick. Super job on the blade clean up.
I may be prejudice, but I think this looks great.

You and Brandos recent post schooled me that the shell looks good on a big blade.

Yours also shows me round corners look nice in this material.

    Thanks guys!

To be honest I never would have even opted for the shell scales. In all the photo's I've seen of them I've always been lukewarm.

Then Masecraft goes and gives me a free sample and I decided to see how they looked on a W&B since I just bought a lot of 5 of them.

In person I really, really like them and have enough material for one more set of scales. Definitely planing on dressing up one of my personal blades and I guess Masecrafts free sample worked as in my next order I'm going to be ordering some more material.

Amazing job! While the scales are sweet, the blade is surely a testimonial to your skills ! Beautiful !
