Cool Roberts Warranted Stub Tail - Rebuild

I just finished this one up in a Honey streaked horn basically what it was built with in the first place... I made new domed washers for it using the exact same technique they did 200 years ago when they built it originally, but I had to reverse the build.. They used steel outer washers brass inner liners and Brass rod and I had to use Silver rod, Brass outer washers and a SS washer under them for support...
I polished the blade to clean it up, but Brian asked that I leave the age marks intact just clean it and shine it...

If you look very very closely at the before pic you can just make out a tiny crack dead center at the toe of the razor... It is gone now

Looks great. I love the fact that you really tried to keep it as original as possible.

Really nice job on keeping it true to it's original self.

Was the wedge on the original one made of a white material?

That horn material is great on 180- 200 yr old razor. The owner will be happy G-Man.

I like the look of it, including the age marks. I think they're an appropriate part of the razors history. It's ok to have a few marks when you get old.....

Sweet looking combo G brother! That Honey horn turned out real nice.
It's ready to be used for another 200 years.

Very Sweet! I'm really drawn to pre-1830's razors now and you absolutely did this one justice.
