Default H.G. Kroncke HDWE Co. / Sperry and Alexander polish

Here is the work I have done on my only straight razor, not to make it shave ready, I don't even know if it is wide enough to do so, but as it hadn't been used for at least 40 years it was oxidised turning blue. Hope you like the photos and the procedure! As I didn't have any electric tools I did all the job by hand and wet sanding with 80-320-400-600-1000-1500-2000-2500 water sandpaper and a paolishing compound in the end. Enjoy!

Well done. That razor has seen a lot of use and the blade is very worn down, I've never tried to hone something like that but I'm guessing it will be tricky. Regardless of that, great job, I'm sure you learnt a lot in the process. Its very satisfying to make such a transformation isn't it.

Congrats on your first but are you going to try to hone it ?
There are some serious geometry issues let alone if it will take a shaving edge.

But do not let that slow you down.

Some of the "Blue" steel razors are very fine shavers.
Give is a whirl... and hone it up.

One things often overlooked is that a well worn razor
got well worn because it was well used. Do not
try too hard in fixing any smile or frown... just hone
with the flow of the razor to start.

I am surprized that some beleive that the blade could be fixed and make this razor shave ready. I didn't beleive that it could be actually fixed when Calmato presented this razor in our National forum.

Not bad at all Calmato! Maybe you could send it to one of the experts in this forum for professional honing.

Yes, you're right! Not bad at all! Maybe I will ask a local expert in honing, in one or two weeks I will be in Athens for exams
