Default Fredrick Reynolds engraved blade in Brazilian walnut

Another couple off the bench. This is a Fredrick Reynolds 6/8 spike 1/4 hollow with an engraved blade. The blade engraving simply reads Unequalled with and eagle under it. I did not want to buff out the engraving so I gave the blade a light pass on the buffing wheels to clean it up. There is still some pantina on the blade and a couple very light pitting near the toe up close to the spine.

I decided to put it in some Brazilian Walnut finished in a high gloss epoxy resin. The wedge is maple to contrast the walnut. Pins are brass over stainless washers with 1/16 brass rod and brass thrust bearings on the blade. Looks pretty nice in my opinion and quite a good shaver.

Very nice! The finish on that wood really brings out the elegance of it.

Beautiful razor. I can't wait to finally get good at shaving with a straight so I can put some money on a razor this nice.

Very nice work. Lovely high gloss finish on some very nice scales. Cool looking blade too.

    Default Walnut finish

Great looking finish! Really makes the razor pop!

Just curious as to what type, brand epoxy resin you are using and the cure time for the coating. if this is not the place to ask, I can move this to another thread.

I have uses a lot of them. The two best IMHO mirror coat and system three bar top finish. It takes 48 hours to cure. There is a how to I did in the WiKi, somewhere, on how to do it and how to repair blemishes on the finish.
