Default Wostenholm split spine JGhost and Redwood Burl

About a month ago I was having some fun on the board with a couple razors and promised that I would post one of the blades when I rescaled it. So here it is in Jade Ghost. The second razor is Redwood Burl.... probably one of the hardest woods that I've ever worked with. I am used to burls being soft and tempermental ... this one is like iron and probably the prettiest with amazing eyes thru-out. The blade may be changed when I can find something just a tad larger. Hope you like.... Steve

Wow I have never seen a spine like that on the ghost jade. And that burlwood is simply amazing, I agree that it could probably do with a slightly bigger blade as it appears to be a large set of scales which allows for more enjoyment of the uniqueness of the wood. Whatever the difficulties were in working with it the end result was well worth it.

Your right about that burl being good looking, it's beautiful.
Very nice work on both razors.

Beautiful. When I finally get good at shaving with a SR and find a blade that I love I think redwood burl will definitely be the way to go.

I've seen it on ebay and specialty/exotic wood sites but could never seem to get my hands on it... let alone some this nice. I really like figures Amboyna and Thuya as well.... if you can find it.

    Thumbs up

I love them both Steve. Well done . If I had to choose, I'd be in trouble. Can't do it. They each have distinct characteristics fitting each blade.

Good, Hard work! They look fabulous! I think one blade looks familiar? Kudos!

Both of those turned out great. Love jade ghost, but that burl is something special. It looks like it has life running through its grains.
