Default Best way to polish razor blade

I have water stains on some razors, and even a litle rust on a few what is the best method to polish this out? Do you use rouge, diamond paste, etc? How about using a buffing wheel?

One must remember to not do anything to any gold plating.

I use sandpaper for deep rust from 100 grit up to 2000. For light rust I just use the very high grits and then metal polish. Many use a buffer with polishing compound and others use a vibrating polisher. I guess the answer best is use what you have readily available. To not hit the gold plating you will want to use sandpaper and NOT hit the gold plate even metal polish will kill plate quick. just have to be precise and work around the plating.

There is a ton of info, a ton of methods, and a ton of "cleaning intensities." I would definitely recommend checking out the sticky in the workshop section: http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...wers-here.html
