    Default Couple of brushes

The meet this last weekend gave me a bit of a kick in the pants to finish some projects starting with a couple of acrylic brushes. Any thoughts and/or suggestions are welcome.
The girl getting the pink one decided to get it shaped like the purple so I will rechuck it tomorrow, but other than that I remembered why I enjoy turning and why I prefer wood

Well, I rechucked the pink one today got it turned almost identical to the purple.

About that time it decided to fly across the room. That's when I got upset and after a little cussing I made what I would consider a respectable fix.

It was just the beginning of one of those days when you have to leave the shop for your sanity and the safety of the tools.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you get the blocks of acrylic?

These two I cast myself, but I did it to match those from Pen Kits - WoodTurningz
I mostly wanted to prove to myself that I could do the complicated patterns like that.
Next set of acrylic I will order.

Wow, cast them yourself? I've been pondering making a brush but I'm not a huge fan of the classic Wood design, but acrylic seems interesting. Those brushes look amazing.

Curious- what to you cast your acrylic it? I am using poly pipe, but I'm not sure there isn't something that will work better.
