    Default pattern welded, monkey tail,

Here is a razor that I forged out of a piece of pattern welded steel. The steel is made up of 1095 and 15N20. Mike Blue made the made the pattern welded steel. The steel started off as a ladder pattern but got distorted as I forged it to shape. I am happy with the organic looking randomness of the pattern. The scales are bocote. The blade section is about 6/8 X 2 1/2.

I personally like a bit more curve in monkey tails, but that is a pretty minor qualm over a gorgeous razor like that. Love the bocote scales, I think the heavier, darker grain of them compliments the softer, thinner grain of the pattern welded steel. Awesome razor, thanks for showing us!

That's such a sweet razor. It has C Lewis written all over it. I like the elongated tail.

Awesome razor Charlie! I particularly like what you did with the heel of the blade. It has a defined flange without a spike. It looks like it would be a dream to use defining the edges of my Van Dyke. I'd be happy to see how she performs in that arena. PM me and I'll be happy to provide you with my address so you can ship it to me for a test drive

WOW, wonderful razor. The steel pattern is very cool.

Elegant, yet primitive. It oozes craftmanship but has something ancient about it....it must be that flat spine.

I wish your razors were readily available.

Even cooler is seeing that little beauty at a heat treatment color then coming back out of the quench nice and straight...then seeing it after Charlie's worked his final magic.
