Very nice. I see you've done a lot of restores with acrylics lately. What is your favorite medium? Wood, bone, acrylics, etc? And why?

Business related, for other people, it doesn't matter to me one bit, each one has good and bad points that you just deal with, and after all it is their razor not mine, so the look is their choice...

Now personally I like near mint, very bright, and colorful American and Solingen 5/8 - 6/8 Extreme Hollow grind, spike points... The more Bling Bling the better, give me bright shiny steel and loud beautiful colors..
Give me Celluloid Cracked Ice baby, Brass inlays, Gold etch, and worked spines... yep the brighter the better...


All that being said it really is all about the steel in the end, doesn't matter what the razor looks like, if she shaves good...

Now that's some unique taste! I'm sure you've made yourself a razor exactly like the one you describe, and I think you should post a picture of it!

Me, i like circa 1900 big, old w&b or joseph rodgers...history, nastalgia, royal cutlers, all that stuff. I love bone, horn, ivory, ornate, rare, exotic woods with inlays, layered woods, and a glistening finish and a blade with deep makers marks, mirror finish...old and classy, natural and vintage. And when I get done with it I'll post a pic too

PS: I am not a restorer and I do apologize in advance if this question seems naive or stupid, but why did you "shave off" the heel area ??!! Chipped, cracked? Or are my eyes deceiving me?

Sorry to join the conversation so late, I've been away for a few days. Sweet looking blade Glen, and another beautiful acrylic for the scales. Have you had a chance to hone/shave with this one yet?

Hehe nope no real "reason" was just putting the smile back into it (pic #3) and was looking at it from the side and "saw" the curves in there, and just got carried away I guess... It looked to me when I got it that somebody tried to take the original smile that was most likely on it, off of it... So I added one back in spades

Tonight, I hope Grant I have been busy with trying to clear out other peoples razors this week...

Fantastic shape looks like a razor that should be used to shave in space....
