Default New scales I just finished!

Just finished a new set of scales, first time I've ever used superglue...time consuming, but worth it! Gaboon ebony lined with yellow wood

They look great. Could you get a close-up of the finish? I'm curious how you came out there.

I haven't made scales in a long time, and I never see two-wood scales so I was testing the waters with this one on a relatively mediocre blade, a wostenholm 5/8". I'll have a close-up and the blade in it shortly...

PS sorry, my camera refuses to do clear closeups. I put it on manual, cannot get clear pics. Have to do auto, and from a couple feet away. If you're curious, the finish is glossy shiny with a little dot the size of a pin point in the finish here and there. Didn't want to bother doing a dozen coats, only 4

In the archives here you will find not only Dark/Light lined scales but some really interesting Top to bottom, and sometimes top/middle/bottom inside outside double wood scales..

You should look through here when you have time... There are some amazing things hidden away on SRP

Is there a link you could send me to the archives, or do I just have to search through the threads? I'd love to see what others have done with wood scales
