    Glen! Nice Work!

How did you bring it up to such a nice finish? Sanding, Buffer Wheels, the vibrating Polisher? Any or all of the above? Please let us know!

    Hi, All,

This one is mine: the wife (bless her heart) found this a couple of months ago for a song at an antique store. Glen's done a beautiful job, and I'm doing my engineer's happy dance waiting for it to show back up.

    One satisfied customer here!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that this one did show back up in the mail today (a couple of days before I'd even expected it). The pictures didn't do it justice. It didn't look brand new, but it looked like it had been loved and cared for throughout its life, which was MANIFESTLY not the case if you look at the "Before" pics that Glen posted at the beginning of the thread. It was nicely packaged, along with a copy of Glen's honing checklist, to show the care he takes to ensure that the razor is shave ready.

And it was. As it turns out, I hadn't shaved this morning, so I trotted right into the bathroom with it, and went through my normal shaving routine. The hinge pin (which had been loose when I sent it to Glen) had obviously been replaced and I had a lot more confidence that the scales were going to stay where I put them. And it truly was shave ready. I was down to one straight razor (another is off for honing with Lynn at SRD), and the razor I'd been using needed to be refreshed. However, using a freshly honed and stropped razor from a pro really highlighted how badly my other two needed to be freshened up. No tugging. At all. My usual routine is to do two passes, one with and one against the grain, and by the time I'd finished, it was the first time in my 6 months of shaving with a straight that I was able to just completely smoke the closeness I'd gotten with 5 blades worth of Gillette Fusion. Easily the closest shave I've ever had. And no blood was let in the process.

In conclusion, the razor looked beautiful, shaved beautiful, and Glen was a true pleasure to work with. Very very happy with the way things turned out.
