Default Wade & Butcher in Amboyna Burl

The original plan was to clean up the blade and factory scales and put it all back together. I'm on a clumsy streak here as of late and I missed the pin and cracked the scales while re-pinning.

    Before:

I set out and made a set of walnut scales ( 6 coats of CA and they were beautiful). I went to pin the razor together and as I was sliding the pin through the hole (it was tight) I applied slight pressure and the scales cracked (honest, only slight pressure was used).

I walked away for a few days and then made a new set of scales from Amboyna Burl with a Cocobolo wedge. I did 9 coats of CA, domed some washers, and VERY carefully put it all together. She's all honed up and I've shaved with her 3 times, and she is dialed in. Today's shave was spectacular...after my SOTD photo (taken before the below photos) I dropped the razor and scuffed/dented the scales by the wedge (you can see it in the pics). The wedge on this one fits better than my last (Thanks Grant!). Still not quite perfect, but getting better. Enjoy and thanks Gentlemen!

    Well....that sure turned out nice.

BTW, I love the last picture. Is it playing hide and seek with the DE and Mach 3?

    Thumbs up

    Glenn,
Beautiful restore buddy . They came out real nice

I am sorry to learn that you dented these darn beautiful scales. At least, it's not a big chip on the blade at the toe or anything

Very nice job. You wouldn't recognise it as the original W&B.

Great work mate. Blade and scales both look sweet. Thats a real nice CA finish on a good looking choice of timber.
Getting a flush fitting wedge with CA finished scales is tricky, well done.
Such a shame you damaged it taking the SOTD photo (I've done that too). Glad it doesnt look too visible though.
