    Default My first blade restoration.

I just recieved this Bengall in the mail. It was sent to me from an old neighbour where I grove up. He is well over 80 years old and this one was used by his father. As you can see it was nicked pretty badly but I have for a long time thinking about a shorter razor, or more precise a razor that has the edge starting further away from the spine. So this was the perfect candidate. I'm posting three pictures, first one is before, the second one is after the blade has been fixed and the last one is when it is all polishd up. I havn't honed it yet and I have a E.A Berg to polish up before this so I don't know yet how it will shave. But I think the result so far is pretty decent.

The result is very interesting, but it looks good.

That was a pretty bad crack. The good thing is that's on the heel side so razor is still very usable in my oppinion. I use 70% from middle to the point side and just 30% from middle to the heel side.
In any case it looks interesting.
