WM Greaves & Sons "For Barber's Use"
Dylan (holli4pirating) came to Iowa so he could attend the MN meet this winter, and while he was here we spent some time in the shop making scales. Dylan has an incredible collection of big old razors, and when I saw this one with its broken scales I told him we just HAD to rescale it. Dylan cleaned up the razor back in NY, and I finally polished the scales and put the whole thing together at the NY Meet last weekend.
The scales are made from some unbelievably nice ebony, and were modeled after the originals. As always, I left almost no flat places on these scales. Washers are original, and the wedge is made from purpleheart... everything is buffed to a glassy shine, and coated in Renaissance Wax.
Plenty of photos furnished by Dylan, so I'm going to share a bunch.
