Two beasties, WB and F Reynolds.
I'd posted these a long time back. At that time I was living downtown Toronto in a tiny condo...no room to work.
Now that I've moved to a much larger space, I have a little man cave and a nice balcony to cut and sand on. I took these ladies apart again, re-sanded, new Padauk scales with a Tung Oil finish, and polished the blades to a nice shine.
This is also my first foray into pinning. To this point I've been Microfastening it up, but I'm finding the hex nuts a little bulky.
Enjoy the pics, and as always, comments and suggestions for improvement are always welcome.

Guitar picks. Sanded and superglued together. I got the idea from another thread around here, and these days I'm having fun playing with the colours.

Awesome work! Man, thats a lot of sanding and polishing! The scales and pins look perfectly styled and fitted and the wedges are neat! You should be proud of that!

Padauk has an important advantage which affects me, and no doubt a few other people. Rosewood or any of the Dalbergia species, which includes cocobolo, brings me out in a most unpleasant rash on the face and chest. It must be an allergy, as they aren't listed as naturally irritant woods. Padauk is very similar to a true rosewood.
It comes in different types, though. I now have only some small fragments of Andaman Padauk, which is a deep red colour. African padauk is usually more orange, but it mellows to brown in a few years. Both look like they should resist moisture and staining very well.
