    I agree with the others, the contrast from forged tang to polished blade really makes the pieces for me.

    I would recommend using a known steel. It is hard to say about the springs that you have, you would have to do some testing. I have made several razors out of this particular spring and tested them over a period of time. The razors that I have made from it shave well and retain their edges The steel sparks like a simple high carbon steel.

    Very nice, I'm a big fan of the kamisori style anyway. Is that about a half hollow?

    Absolutely breath taking, I have not seen a razor that I like so much as the 'Fatboy'. I have looked at a lot of blades since I got 'the bug' and this takes the cake.
