Thanked: 13249Kama Kama Kama, oh heck come on and show us the pics :)
I actually remembered to do before pics on this one...
The scales were shot and there was a bit of rust damage...
Jorge wanted me to keep the Kama inlay, and originally he wanted the scales in Thuya Burl...
The Kama inlay I got loose, but the Thuya Burl, I don't know what was going on as 2 sets literally came apart in my hands... After the second set we changed plans to Amboyna Burl...
I polished the blade out, the finished the scales in CA (super glue) after the scales were finished completely, then I transfered over the inlay, and very very carefully scraped away any excess glue and re-polished it in... This is gotta be the most perfect inlay transfer I have pulled off, the drop and the amount of CA was just right
The pins are Brass along with the Brass washers, the wedge is made of Recon Torquoise...
I used no light other than the natural light coming in the windows for the light box, so there would be no shine reflecting off the CA finish but in hand it is very high gloss ...
These are all 7 of Jorge's that headed home today, from Vintage restores to Custom scales to the Kama...
