Tha 2 do Q
Been meaning to get a round tuit but some of these, like the W&B, I've had sitting around fo 3 or 4 years . Had a quiet spell so got stuck in to 'em. Most saw at least 80 grit to start so some etches etc. got ghostly The Lakeside Cutlery suffered worst there but it's still identifiable.
They're all close to ready so will add to this thread as I pin 'em up & get mo' pics.
Been waiting for the new small SS washers & first cab off the rank is the C-Mon Wedge. Sanded back as much as I dared on the scales & still some blemishes left but wanted to keep it as real as I could. One of the scales had a crack at the wedge end so I glued the wedge to the scales on one side. It's pretty solid & should support this critter easily
A little bit of red paint on the tang & she's a ready for da hones.
Back with mo' soon. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Cheers Glen . I liked 'em fine but found I needed to be very precise with the pin length to get a neat finish. I think they may even be a tad smaller than some of the originals. Got some of the small Microfasteners ones coming too so I can get a look side by side but Ima keen to stack some up hehe.

Came out very nice! If you don't mind sharing how did you add the red back? It is ordinary enamel?

The W&B went into the Vost's black horn scales & the Vost got some old blonde horn. Pics coming
No trick with the enamel. You pile it on & wipe it off with paper wrapped around a flat scraper of some sort. A piece of acrylic works. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Next is the 7/8 W&B in the Vost scales. I thought it a more appropriate pairing
Some really nice graining in the scales. NiAg pins & SS Washers. 0's over 2's.
Wedge is pearl acrylic with a diagonal line of sparkles down the middle.
Second Sheffield in a row with assymetric tang but the spine & edge look pretty true.Last edited by onimaru55; 06-05-2011 at 03:04 AM.
