My thanks to Neil Miller
I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to Neil Miller for the lovely restoration work that he carried out on one of my razors the Iron Duke, so the best way to say thanks would be to post a few photo's so here we go.
Jamie.

Looks like a NOS razor - he didn't do anything! Just kidding - I have a few examples of Neil's work and it is top notch. On that razor I can see Neil has rescaled it and applied new gold plating, probably a polish and a honing also. Nice work. Would have been good to see a before picture..

Thanks, but they are the original scales, everything else you are right about.

I assumed they may have been new scales as they have new peens. Neil did similar work to a rusty old Gold Bug a few months ago. New gold plating and new scales and a first class clean up. Im not as good a photographer as you though!

I like your razor, and those scales, I'm not a straight shaver myself, I doubt I ever will be, DE shaver through and through, I just love the simple way they look very basic but the perfect cutting tool very difficult to improve on, I myself have a razor restoration come custom project on the go now first time, iv'e finished the blade, now i'm going to use clear arcylic for scales and the original white wedge from the old scales, I think I can do it justice, but we will see what the straight razor people think when I finish.

Either way you have a fine start to your collection, though there's no harm in giving it a go, even once.

Both restorations look great! Neil is a good man and it is always a pleasure to do business with him.
