J.A. Henckles 401
J.A. Henckels 401 square point
Grind = super duper extra extra hollow
Size = 6/8
Scales = Bloodwood or Redheart (I'm leaning towards bloodwood but honestly can't remember) with 4x coats of low gloss tung oil
Pins = 3 x 1/16th brass with brass washers and a brass sleeve on the mid pin
Wedge = same wood as scales with brass liners
This is my second attempt at making scales and 3rd cleanup of a blade. New for me was the 3rd pin and lined wedge, I don't like the small spaces on the wedge side that wouldn't close up no matter how tight I made it. They seemed to fit much nicer before I applied the coats of tung oil. I do like how the 3rd pin holds the blade up slightly, made the line of the spine match up to the scales well. Enjoy.
