    Default W&B Clean Up on the Road to a Restore

    This is my first restore attempt. I got the razor off ebay for $80 and the blade had a small chip, which I sanded out. It was a Celebrated 8/8, now it's a 7/8. I've cleaned most of the gunk off the blade and there seem to be very little pitting. This was done mainly by hand with the help of a dremel here and there. I plan to unpin it next, and clean/polish the blade. Re pin the original scales (after polishing them), hone it, and use it for a while. Then make a new set up scales and attempt a full restore later. This will be my project razor for the next few months! A before and after (doesn't seem that much different in the photo, but in person it's quite different):

    Love the old Sheffields. Good job, have fun with this project and keep us posted.
