Default Mutant Hybrid #3 "The Darkness"

This one used to be a Birko Best 6/8 (Solingen).
The first 2 of these fixed blade razors I've made had 2 piece handles glued together around the tang, this time I made a solid 1 piece handle with a tang hole drilled down the middle similar to what Glen did a few months back. The handle is midnight acrylic, I love the stuff.
The blade was modded and then hand sanded. I then went to blue the blade, the unusual effect on the blade was unintentional, but I like it a lot.
This one is a little bigger than the earlier models, measuring just over 7.5 inches in length. It feels great in the hand and I have given it a test shave with a Coticule edge and it really impressed me.

I like it alot. It looks like a handmade custom especially with that odd effect you stumbled on.

I think you went down the right road with this one. Great effort and I'm sure it was. Watch out for that point. Looks wicked!

    Grant,

This is my favourite one of the three fixed blades you've done. I think it's really sleek and stylish, especially with the blade blueing that went slightly awry.

The box, with the knot in the top, really adds a nice dimension of rustic as well. Really nice work man....love the pics.
