Ok, I said it was finished then but i promise its finished now lol
I ripped the wedge out and sanded it back to, thinnest part is about 1mm and thickest is about 2.5mm. And while i was doing that i shortened it slightly.
I think it looks a little more finished now.
@ onimaru55 - There is actually next to no spine wear on this! could it just be a poorly made blade? (or just poor honing) lolLast edited by Brighty83; 07-29-2011 at 10:01 AM.

I will have a look at that Organoil, do you get it from carba-tec?
I actually don't have a band saw, this whole thing was done using a 18v Lithium Royobi Circular saw, dremel and hand LOL - It didn't take too long though, well considering. Today i did purchase a bench sander though and next on the list will be the band saw. I have to get this stuff in stages.

Ha . Like I said . Hooked
Carba-tec may have it. I got mine from Bunnies years ago. Lasts forever for scales. Don't use muchThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

i was looking at the baby band saws at bunnings, they are only $159. Could you use a Scroll Saw instead of a band saw for cutting out scales? I have never used a Scroll Saw so I'm not 100% sure of there comparison to a band saw.

Very nice job
IIRC there are quite a few unbranded razors coming from Germany, but that doesn't mean it's a bad blade, most, if not all, vintage German razors are of good quality.Need help or tutoring? Check out the .
