Thanked: 203Last Australian One Tonight
Hi Again All,
Thanks for bearing with if you are still looking.
This is the last of my CPMS30V. This is a special order for a feller of Kiwi and Pacific Islander decent, hence the Paua shell. This guy has really large hands and fingers and proved a challenge. We tried several old razors out of my collection, but with thick fingers he could not get a grip he was happy with. So i resorted to several templates in MDF until we reached this design. This is the second attempt - some may remember from the workshop thread when i managed to crack the first blade during a quench when grinding a little too hot.
Anyway, this is a real chopper to balance out the tang. It is 8/8, cutting edge 3 3/8 long, wedge with worked spine, barber's notch, jimping, LVP Paua Shell, Black Buffalo Horn wedge with two 1/8 mosaic pins in "sundial" pattern and a torx pivot.
i also made a matching brush with a long black buffalo horn handle with LVP Paua shell on the base and an A Grade Silvertip Badger knot.
Hope you enjoy.
Anyone at Saturday night's meet in Brisbane will be able to see these in person.
Best to all working with and using steel out there.Respectfully,
Adam.

Man that is one wicked looking razor, and CPM S30V, I bet that's one tough Mother to put a edge on, but when you do get a edge I bet it's unbeatable, amazing looking razor.

That is a very nice looking razor..and it is huge. if that Coticule is a 180mm standard length. I knew some Islanders years back and can understand the size of the razor!
Nice work!

Love it ! Love it all ! Including the coticule !

Thanked: 94That is very sweet.
I love the 'wave' lines on scales and spine, gives it a very Pacific look. I almost looked for the third wave behind the first two.
Your customer has to be stoked, eh bro.

Thanked: 94Adam you need to post another photo with something for size reference in it. I had no idea that you had built it out of a railway track.
