The finish is superb. The largest blade I've owned is an 8/8ths & even then, I didn't attempt to shave w/ it although I'm confident enough in my abilities at this stage to giver 'er a go. Is shaving the upper lip/below the nose more difficult w/ a blade that width?

    Hey Shooter74743,

Well I do appreciate your good marks on this. It may not be an everyday shaver but it certainly is a fun one to use. I usually take my photos after its shave ready so I can tell you that after two shaves, it was exhilarating. Not sure if its the fiercely sharp edge that you can achieve on the A2 or the extra focus of your attention on the BIG piece of steel in your hand. Likely both! lol

I had the idea of this wedge pin rolling around for a little while now but was not sure how it might come together. I can tell you it was about 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Basically I used a what some might call a Loveless Bolt or Luke Rivet and "machined" ground the pass through threaded bolt to what you see sticking out on either end. I had to of course grind down the supporting nuts to accommodate the thickness of the horn and wedge. Left to itself one might see something similar to a Birds Eye like on a knife handle. I normally use a high strength two part epoxy to bond the wedge and the scales together so it was a little tricky to get all these pieces together without a little fuss and muss. Anyway, aside from a little cussing here and there thats about it.

    Hello, Rostfrei

Thanks for the kind remarks. I can only speak for myself since there are so many folks with different opinions and tastes. I personally find that shaving with larger razors (8/8 -10/8) is a bit easier around the upper lip/ below the nose. (In some respects) Not sure why, but may be just the fact that you are wielding a larger object and tend to focus more, little more respect. I'll be the first to say that 11/8 is almost too big but why not live a little and let your imagination go now and then. Ironically there are some master makers out there that have created even larger razors than this which is nothing short of amazing.

    Best Regards
    Kenny

I love it. I have to give you props for using the ace of clubs rather than spades! Definitely the prettiest card in the deck. (I actually modeled my business card after it)

But not to take away from your awesome work. It's beastly yet elegant - like a convicted murderer in a tux.

Absolutely amazing looking razor, I know there's a lot of vintage razor fans out there, but the modern custom jobs just put them in the shade in terms of finish steel and materials, I love it. PS That razor a little smaller with a VG10 blade steel could be my dream razor thanks for sharing those beautiful shots.
